Christina D. Yates
Christina Yates brings both litigation and transactional experience to the firm. She has particular expertise in the areas of real estate, construction, class action, corporate, intellectual property, and non-profit law.
Prior to coming to the firm, Christina served as in-house counsel for The Kiernan Companies, a hotel, commercial and industrial development company, as well as Associate General Counsel for the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Diego, where she managed its considerable real estate portfolio. Christina's real estate experience consists of both litigation and transactional work.
Ms. Yates also has significant intellectual property experience and has managed trademark and copyright portfolios, including counseling, prosecution and litigation, for several companies, from publicly held international companies to small start-ups. Ms. Yates has also done corporate/securities work for many of the same companies, including managing SEC reporting requirements.
Additionally, Christina has experience in the highly regulated area of non-profit organizations. Although she currently practices almost exclusively in litigation, Christina continues to serve as in-house pro bono counsel to non-profit organizations. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Balboa Park Central, formerly the House of Hospitality Association.
